INTRODUCTION

Pastoral care is particularly highlighted at Grays Convent High School. As a small school we have the time to care, encourage and support all our students, each of whom are known by name.

Many of our teachers give freely of their spare time, going the extra mile to offer endless catch-up opportunities, revision classes and homework clubs.

Heads of Year meet regularly to discuss all the girls in our care and offer extra help and encouragement wherever needed. Our staff act as mentors for at risk students to offer extra provision to help them achieve their full potential.

We also employ two school nurses who can deal with any medical matters that may occur during the school day. In addition we have a full time learning mentor who is available across the school for all year groups.

Counselling Services

We have a School Counsellor that all our students can make an appointment with to discuss any of their concerns, from the small to the serious, plus a more relaxed Open Door counselling service. The Brentwood Diocese also offers trained counsellors if required.
