GOVERNANCE

The role of our Governing Body is to promote high standards of educational achievement at Grays Convent High School.

We have three key functions:

  • To ensure that there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;

  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

Every Governor gives their time freely to ensure that these functions are carried out.  We passionately believe that an all-girls education in Thurrock is essential, giving young women the very best opportunity to live up to their potential, in a local school.

As a Governing Body we are proud to serve Grays Convent High School and to represent the interests of our girls and their families.  We have a wealth of experiences, drawn from the fields of Education, Business, and the Public and Financial sectors, that contribute to the vision and strategic direction of the school.  We are members of the National Governance Association and have signed up to the Governors Code of Conduct.

The Governor’s vision for Grays Convent High School is to “have a vibrant, thriving school where every child reaches their potential and is fully equipped to deal with their future”.
